Question 1

Are the AFLW tips free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every AFLW tip, player projection, W Award prediction, projected ladder, premiership odds and value pick on Footy Tip Jar is completely free, with no signup required.

Question 2

How does the AFLW tipping model work?

Accepted Answer

Footy Tip Jar rates every AFLW team with a leak-free, walk-forward latent margin-strength model learned from official match data across recent seasons. The difference between two teams' strengths becomes a win probability and a projected margin. The tip is simply the team the model rates ahead, and it is designed to beat the average tipper across the season.

Question 3

How are the W Award (best and fairest) votes predicted?

Accepted Answer

Each game the model estimates each player's chance of polling 3, 2 or 1 votes from their projected stats, then runs a 2000-iteration Monte Carlo across the season to build a leaderboard with projected votes, win probability and podium chances. Completed games are scored deterministically; future games are simulated.

Question 4

Does Footy Tip Jar show AFLW ladder and premiership predictions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Ladder page shows the projected AFLW ladder, each team's finals chances, and premiership odds from a simulation of the season and the top-eight finals. The bracket is projected all the way to the Grand Final.

Question 5

Does the site cover player stats and the Leading Goalkicker?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every AFLW player has projected per-game stats (disposals, goals, marks, tackles and more) shown on match pages, the Stats Leaders page and individual player profiles, filterable by position and team. Projected season goals track the Leading Goalkicker race.

Question 6

How does Footy Tip Jar find AFLW value bets?

Accepted Answer

The model's win probability is converted to fair decimal odds and compared to the market. When the model rates a team meaningfully shorter than the bookmakers, the match is flagged as a value pick. Odds are shown for comparison only and are never an input to the model.

Question 7

How often are the AFLW predictions updated?

Accepted Answer

Predictions refresh when team lineups are announced and again after games finish, when results, the ladder and W Award votes are re-computed. Tips lock at the first bounce of each match and never change once a game has started.

Question 8

Is this the men's AFL Footy Tip Jar?

Accepted Answer

No. This is the AFLW (women's) edition at w.footytipjar.com, covering the NAB AFL Women's competition. The men's AFL edition is a separate site at footytipjar.com.
